Vsa se, podobno kot aminokisline OKA, \u017ee v slabe pol ure absorbirajo v kri brez obremenjevanja prebavil. Bistvena razlika pa je v tem, da se obi\u010dajni beljakovinski prehranski dodatki na celi\u010dni ravni ne izkoristijo ni\u010d bolj kot beljakovine, iz katerih so napravljeni. Na trgu so najbolj raz\u0161irjene aminokisline iz sirotke. Njihov celi\u010dni anabolni izkoristek je le 16 % in kar 84 % se pretvori v zelo obremenjujo\u010de du\u0161i\u010dne odpadke. Aminokisline OKA pa se izkoristijo kar 99-odstotno in odpadkov prakti\u010dno ne tvorijo, kar zelo olaj\u0161a presnovo in pospe\u0161i regeneracijo mi\u0161ic in drugih organov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Enrico Mariani je \u0161tiri tedne preverjal u\u010dinke u\u017eivanja OKA na desetih teka\u010dih. V dneh intenzivnega treninga je vsak u\u017eival po 20 g OKA, druge dni pa po 10 g. V primerjavi s \u0161portniki iz kontrolne skupine, ki niso u\u017eivali OKA, sta se pri teh teka\u010dih bolj pove\u010dali mi\u0161i\u010dna masa in mi\u0161i\u010dna mo\u010d, mo\u010d obeh nog se je izena\u010dila, zmanj\u0161ala pa se je koli\u010dina mle\u010dne kisline v organizmu, kar je znak ve\u010dje \u010distosti telesa (Mariani et al. 1999).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0160e pomembnej\u0161a je kasnej\u0161a raziskava, ki jo je vodil dr. Maurizio Luc\u00e0-Moretti (2003). V njej je prav tako 4 tedne sodelovalo 20 dobro treniranih in prehranjenih teka\u010dev in teka\u010dic, v povpre\u010dju starih 40 let. V testni skupini je bilo 10 oseb (8 mo\u0161kih, 2 \u017eenski), enako v kontrolni. Po telesnem naporu se skupini nista razlikovali, tudi osnovna prehrana je bila v obeh podobna. Beljakovinska dopolnila obeh skupin pa so bila razli\u010dna. Testna skupina je na dan intenzivnega treninga zau\u017eila po 20 tablet OKA (10 ob zajtrku in 10 uro pred treningom), ob dnevih la\u017eje vadbe pa po 10 tablet OKA, medtem ko je kontrolna skupina u\u017eivala ustrezno koli\u010dino obi\u010dajnih beljakovinskih dopolnil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Koli\u010dina mle\u010dne kisline v mi\u0161icah in krvi se je mnogo bolj zni\u017eala v testni skupini kot v kontrolni, kar je pospe\u0161ilo regeneracijo po vadbi. Le v testni skupini se je pove\u010dal obseg mi\u0161i\u010dne mase in bazalni metabolizem, ma\u0161\u010dobno tkivo pa se je zmanj\u0161alo. Bolj kot v kontrolni skupini sta se pove\u010dala mo\u010d in vzdr\u017eljivost mi\u0161ic. Meritve kolenskih mi\u0161ic obeh nog so pokazale, da so se v testni skupini okrepile neprevladujo\u010de mi\u0161ice vsaj dvakrat bolj kot v kontrolni skupini. To je znak bolj\u0161e beljakovinske prehranjenosti s pomo\u010djo OKA. V znanosti je namre\u010d poznano, da naprezanje ob pomanjkanju beljakovin okrepi le prevladujo\u010de mi\u0161ice, neprevladujo\u010de pa o\u0161ibijo. Dopolnjevanje prehrane \u0161portnikov z OKA torej bolj celovito okrepi mi\u0161i\u010devje kot dopolnjevanje prehrane z obi\u010dajnimi beljakovinskimi dodatki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raziskava je tudi pokazala, da je dopolnjevanje prehrane \u0161portnikov z OKA varno, saj niso ugotovili negativnih stranskih u\u010dinkov.
