S staranjem pa se njihova antioksidantskost zmanj\u0161uje. Kri zdravega petdesetletnika je tako kar stokrat manj antioksidantska kot pri dvajsetih letih. Posledica je pomanjkanje energije in ve\u010dja dovzetnost za oku\u017ebe. Pri bolnikih s KOPB pa je oksidiranost \u0161e pove\u010dana. Zato je za potek bolezni koristno u\u017eivanje mo\u010dnih antioksidantov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trije grami (\u0161est tablet) spiruline vsebujejo ve\u010d antioksidantov kot dnevno priporo\u010denih 400 g sadja in zelenjave. V dvomese\u010dnem preizkusu univerze v Daki so ugotovili, da se pri bolnikih s KOPB \u017ee pri odmerku 1 g spiruline na dan zmanj\u0161a oksidativni stres, \u0161e bolj pa pri odmerku 2 g na dan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0160e mnogo mo\u010dnej\u0161i antioksidant je pra\u0161ek FHES. Nauniverzi v Ljubljani so ugotovili, da je kozarec vode s kapsulo FHES po antioksidantski mo\u010di enakovreden vsaj 10.000 kozarcem najbolj antioksidantskega sve\u017eega soka. Ameri\u0161ki zdravnik Ron Meyers, ki je prvi prou\u010deval u\u010dinke FHES v klini\u010dni praksi, ugotavlja, da njegovo u\u017eivanje godi tudi bolnikom z emfizemom.
