Najpogostej\u0161e oblike obolenj jeter so zama\u0161\u010denost, vnetje, brazgotinjenost, ciroza in rak jeter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>V zadnjih desetletjih se je \u0161tevilo jetrnih bolnikov zelo pove\u010dalo. Dandanes prihaja v ospredje nealkoholna zama\u0161\u010denost jeter (NASH), saj ima to te\u017eavo kar tretjina prebivalstva razvitega sveta. Dr. Lustig razkriva, da je glavni vzrok za ta porast pove\u010dano u\u017eivanje sladkorja. Vsa fruktoza, bistvena sestavina namiznega sladkorja, se namre\u010d presnavlja v jetrih; zlahka se spaja z beljakovinami in tvori strupene glicirane beljakovine. \u017dal se je koli\u010dina v hrano dodanega sladkorja v zadnjih \u0161tirih desetletjih ve\u010d kot potrojila; dodani sladkor najdemo \u017ee v skoraj vseh \u017eivilih. Najpogostej\u0161i krivec za zama\u0161\u010denost jeter NASH pa se zdi u\u017eivanje sladkanih industrijskih pija\u010d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vse ve\u010d je v telesu tudi drugih, za jetra uni\u010dujo\u010dih toksinov. Po ugotovitvah obse\u017ene raziskave v Nem\u010diji se je \u0161tevilo razli\u010dnih strupenih snovi, ki so jih v zadnjih desetih letih v nedovoljeni koli\u010dini odkrili v krvi pacientov, pove\u010dalo z 20 na kar 500. Dandanes uvr\u0161\u010dajo obolenja jeter med pet najpogostej\u0161ih vzrokov smrti pri ljudeh srednjih let.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zdravniki priporo\u010dajo jetrnim bolnikom zdravo in uravnote\u017eeno prehrano. V leto\u0161nji junijski \u0161tevilki novic sem predstavil, kako z grobo mletim prete\u017eno zelenjavnim zme\u0161an\u010dkom (smutijem) lahko zmanj\u0161amo raven sladkorja v krvi in s tem varujemo jetra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prehranska znanost in tehnologija pa sta razvili nova \u017eivila, ki so primerna za jetrne bolnike.
