Obi\u010dajno menimo, da je hlepenje po taki hrani le razvada. A po njej rade posegajo tudi \u017eivali, ki ravnajo zgolj instinktivno \u2013 naravno. \u010ce vr\u017eemo v parku vrabcem na eno stran pest \u017eita, ki je njihova naravna hrana, na drugo pa pest kruha, bodo prej pojedli kruh. Pa to \u0161e ni njihova najbolj za\u017eelena izbira. Ko sva s soprogo na terasi restavracije na Bledu pojedla vsak svojo kremno rezino, sta na moj kro\u017enik priletela dva vrab\u010dka. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Najprej sta do konca pozobala otreseni kup\u010dek sladkorja, potem kremo in \u0161ele na koncu preostanke kru\u0161ne skorje. Pa celo pri izbiri sladkorja so izbir\u010dni. Moj sorodnik iz Kopra je imel v svojem bifeju te\u017eave z vrabci. Kradli so namre\u010d vre\u010dke sladkorja z miz na prostem; a nikoli se niso zmotili, da bi ukradli rjavi sladkor. Jemali so samo vre\u010dke belega. Tudi mravlje niso imele v evoluciji prilo\u017enosti, da se navadijo na \u010disti sladkor, pa priromajo, ko ga posujemo, konje nagradimo s kocko sladkorja \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nekatere potrebe ljudi in \u017eivali niso rezultat pretekle evolucije, pa\u010d pa so preprosto vrojene. Biolog Richard Dawkins v svoji knjigi Sebi\u010dni gen pojasnjuje, da bitja pri svojem instinktivnem ravnanju izbiramo, kar je v korist reprodukcije, \u010deprav je pogosto v \u0161kodo zdravju in dolgo\u017eivosti. Za uspe\u0161no reprodukcijo potrebujemo ve\u010d energije kot za dolgo\u017eivost, zato instinktivno \u2013 \u017eivali in mi \u2013 posegamo po hitro presnovljivi hrani. Raziskovalka Katrin Milton je \u017ee pred desetletji dokazovala, da je zgodovina \u010dlove\u0161tva pravzaprav zgodovina vse ve\u010djega oddaljevanja od vlakninsko bogate hrane. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dandanes se v razvitem svetu prehranjuje v skladu s prehranskimi priporo\u010dili manj kot 3 % prebivalstva, \u010deprav imajo ve\u010dinoma dovolj sredstev za izbiro zdrave hrane in je splo\u0161no znano, da je za zdravje treba u\u017eiti veliko zelenjave in sadja. Klic narave po hitri hrani je mo\u010dan, zato sem s sodelavci \u017ee leta 2010 v presti\u017eni reviji Appetite objavil \u010dlanek s predlogom, naj se \u017eivilska industrija usmeri v ustvarjanje tudi nove hitre hrane, ki naj bo slastna in obenem zdrava &#8211; torej z dovolj prepotrebnimi hranivi. Pobuda o ustvarjanju slastnih, a zdravih \u00bbkremnih rezin\u00ab ipd je seveda naletela na gluha u\u0161esa.
