A strokovnjaki, med drugimi nobelovec James Watson, opozarjajo, da je 10.000 let, odkar obstaja kmetijstvo, prekratek \u010das za biolo\u0161ko prilagoditev na hrano, ki jo je vzgojil \u010dlovek. Navaja na primer, da so razli\u010dne sodobne povrtnine (npr. zelje, ohrovt, cveta\u010do, brokoli, kolerabo, blitvo \u2026 ) razvili iz prvotnega divjega zelja \u0161ele v zadnjih nekaj stoletjih (glej zgornji sliki). Pred 10.000 leti ni bilo koruze, pa\u010d pa njena divja predhodnica, ki ima le za mezin\u010dek velike stor\u017ee. \u0160e danes raste v Mehi\u0161kem zalivu. Meso je bilo le od divja\u010dine, ki ima za nas mnogo ustreznej\u0161o sestavo esencialnih ma\u0161\u010dobnih kislin kot meso doma\u010dih \u017eivali. Seveda se ne bomo odrekali hrani, ki jo dandanes pridelujejo (zlasti ekolo\u0161ki) kmetovalci, a bolj po meri na\u0161ih genov je razvojno mnogo starej\u0161a, divja hrana. Toda, katera vrsta prehrane je to?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Izvor na\u0161ih primatskih praprednikov sega v \u010das pred 65 milijoni let. Bili so \u017eu\u017ekojedi. Surovi \u017eu\u017eki niso hrana za nas, saj sodobni ljudje nimamo dovolj hitinaz \u2013 encimov za prebavo hitina, ki tvori oklepe \u017eu\u017eelk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pred nekako 30 milijoni let so se na\u0161i primatski predniki specializirali za prete\u017eno sadno surovo prehrano. T\u00e1ko vegetarijanstvo je trajalo ve\u010d kot 20 milijonov let.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pred nekako 2 milijonoma let so se pojavili prvi ljudje. Njihova hrana je bila me\u0161ana, pridobljena z lovom in nabiranjem. Pred nekako 1,6 milijoni let so jo za\u010deli tudi toplotno obdelovati. Taka divja me\u0161ana, deloma toplotno obdelana prehrana se je za\u010dela umikati pridelani hrani \u0161ele s porajanjem kmetijstva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obe omenjeni vrsti pra-prehrane sta bogati z vlakninami; obe sta vplivali na oblikovanje potreb sodobnega \u010dloveka.
