Med njimi je kar 30 nujnih za \u017eivljenje (esencialnih): 15 vrst vitaminov, 13 vrst rudnin in dve vrsti esencialnih ma\u0161\u010dobnih kislin. Raziskava v ZDA (2011) je pokazala, da ve\u010dini prebivalcev primanjkuje esencialnih ma\u0161\u010dobnih kislin in ve\u010d vrst rudnin in vitaminov. Po dr. Ronu Meyersu so za\u010detni znaki pomanjkanja esencialnih hranil utrujenost, razdra\u017eljivost, nespe\u010dnost, stalna \u017eelja po hrani, slab\u0161anje spomina, zmanj\u0161ana pozornost in mnogi drugi. Na dolgi rok pa je njihovo pomanjkanje vir raznih resnih obolenj.<\/p>\n<p>Za zadostno koli\u010dino teh hranil poskrbimo z uravnote\u017eeno prehrano z dovolj sadja in zelenjave. Odli\u010den dodatni vir pa so modrozelene alge, saj vsebujejo veliko esencialnih ma\u0161\u010dobnih kislin, rudnin in vitaminov. Mednje sodita tudi klorela in spirulina. Nobeno \u017eivilo ne vsebuje esencialnih hranil v to\u010dnem razmerju, kot ga potrebuje na\u0161e telo.
