Preprosto povedano: to je snov, ki v telesu predstavlja glavno \u00bbstikalo\u00ab za usmeritev organizma v tako imenovani \u00bbhite\u010di\u00ab (angl. go-go) na\u010din delovanja ali v \u00bbpopravljalnega\u00ab. \u010ce je vrednost IGF-1 blizu zgornje referen\u010dne vrednosti ali nad njo, je telo v \u00bbhite\u010dem\u00ab na\u010dinu delovanja. V tem stanju sta spodbujena rast in razmno\u017eevanje celic, \u017eal tudi rakavih. Ve\u010dinoma je na\u0161e telo v tem stanju. Pri nizkih vrednostih IGF-1 se celotno telo usmeri predvsem v regeneracijo tkiv in organov. To deluje zaviralno na razvoj raka, diabetesa in na staranje organizma.<\/p>\n<p>V nedavni raziskavi v ZDA med ljudmi z <strong>me\u0161ano \u00bbzahodnja\u0161ko\u00ab prehrano<\/strong>, starimi od 50 do 60 let, je bil IGF-1 za 8% nad zgornjo referen\u010dno vrednostjo. To je stanje visoke stopnje tveganja za rakava obolenja.<\/p>\n<p>V isti raziskavi so ugotovili, da je bil IGF-1 <strong>veganov<\/strong> iste starostne skupine 25% pod zgornjo referen\u010dno vrednostjo. Ve\u010d \u0161tudij je tudi ugotovilo, da je ob veganski hrani tveganje za nastanek raka precej ni\u017eje kot pri me\u0161ani hrani.<\/p>\n<p>Pri <strong>trajni kalori\u010dni restrikciji<\/strong> (20% pod normalnim energijskim vnosom) in restrikciji vnosa \u017eivalskih beljakovin se IGF-1 zni\u017ea celo za 35% pod zgornjo referen\u010dno vrednost.<\/p>\n<p>IGF-1 lahko zni\u017eamo tudi pri me\u0161ani prehrani, \u010de se redno <strong>postimo<\/strong> 1-2 krat tedensko oz. po dalj\u0161ih postih; meritve ka\u017eejo, da se IGF-1 ob takih prehranskih re\u017eimih spusti za 40 % do 50% pod zgornjo referen\u010dno mejo.
